Irvin G Day

April 4, 1954 - December 12, 2017

On December 12, 2017, Irvin George Day, departed this life surrounded by is family. Irvin was always known for his infectious laughter and mischievous spirit. He enjoyed all genres of music, his indoor plants and spending time with family and friends. He was devoted to his sobriety and was an inspiration to his peers. Irvin was born to George E. Day and Nancy Prather, April 4, 1954 in Long Branch, New Jersey. In his early years Irvin enjoyed sports, arts and his album collection. Irvin graduated Long Brach High School in 1972. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he was honorably discharged. In early years Irvin was employed at Monmouth Medical Center and concluded his career at JSAS HealthCare. Irvin was predeceased by his parents George and Nancy, wife Odessa, brother Roger, sister Roslyn and brother Michael. He leaves to cherish his memory sisters Gladys, Wendy and Therese; children Laron, Ayana (Jason) and DaShaunn; grandchildren Laron, Ahnya, Jailyn, Janai and Jazmin; Judith Shepard his significant other and a host of family and friends. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at the Hoffman Funeral Home, 415 Broadway, Long Branch from 1pm until the time of his funeral service at 2:30pm.
